Caring for your Blinds & Curtains
With all curtains and blinds a little care and consideration should be taken when using e.g. no excessive tugging or pulling too firmly on chains or cords as this can activate the child safety mechanism and cause the safety clips to dislodge or snap or worse damage your blinds.
This information should be relayed to family members and rental tenants to keep breakages to a minimum as when the child safety catches have snapped away this can cause pressure on the workings of roman blinds in particular and cause damage to the blind mechanism or fabric if ignored.
Maintenance
Incorrect use of blinds is the number one way to shorten the lifespan of your window treatments (aside from furry family members).
With all curtains and blinds a little care and consideration should be taken when using e.g. no agressive tugging or pulling hard on chains or cords as this can activate the child safety mechanism and dislodge or snap the safety clips or worse damage your blinds.
-
Gentle firm pressure should only be applied when pulling on blind chords, chains and wands.
-
If a child safety clip breaks don't throw it away, call us and we can explain how to reattach it. A video guide will be available soon.

When blinds are down please do not be tempted to grab them an peep outside as this will eventually warp or cause tearing of the fabric depending on the type of blinds you have this is particularly important for lighter and sheer fabric blinds. This is one of the most common reasons classified as missuse of blinds and causes the most damage to fabric blinds especially.
-
Never have blinds down when windows are open as it will most definitely damage them especially BlocOut Systems as a vacum will be created which will pull the fabric out from the side channels and will tear and most likley destroy your blinds. Misuse is not covered under warranty.
